Explore the video provided and reflect on the themes of a PLN in a professional capacity.

After watching the video, I was deeply touched. Brad Baker participated in many activities related to indigenous and anti-racism and established a professional social network through these activities. It made me realize that PLN can build a professional community and allow everyone to express their own opinions and voices so that everyone can build a better communication space. We can listen to different voices while we share our opinions. This can also expand the PLN and make the PLN more diverse and inclusive.

Which social media platforms are beneficial in education?

Regarding social platforms that are beneficial to education, I think there are two types, one is social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), “theorizes that technology is reshaping the ways humans create, store and distribute knowledge.” (Veletsianos & Couros, 2010;2014;), through social media is a very convenient way to expand PLN through social media to recognize people from all over the world, so we can establish a dialogue with people in the same profession and the same field through social media platforms, Through sharing and listening to opinions, through effective communication, to learn more knowledge, but learning through social media also has some drawbacks, because social media can share and spread information at will so that sometimes false information is received, So it is still necessary to determine the authenticity and reliability of the source of the information. The second is some professional learning social platforms (Coursera iTunes U, etc., such professional learning websites will be more reliable, not only can you see the courses you want online, but you can also establish communication with teachers and students who are studying. It increases the time for communication and can effectively deal with various problems. Therefore, in the current era of big data, it is very effective and convenient to use social media platforms for the development of education.

Consider the equality that exists when all have the same platform to engage community dialogues.

Only in an equal environment can we better engage everyone in the dialogue. When talking on a social media platform, everyone will not be affected by the identity and background of the other party. Everyone can freely express their views and ideas, and more people can participate in it and have better communication. Increased opportunities for interaction.

when working with the vulnerable sector, how does social media fit into professionalism and regulations?

When working with disadvantaged groups, we must take into account that they are inclined to the opinions of others. For this reason, we must have professionalism and regulations on social media, so that we can better share our opinions because the disadvantaged groups are more It is easy to accept the opinions of others, so it is necessary to set a better example, which can be used as a beacon on their way forward and avoid affecting their ideas.

Thanks for sharing! i also agree that when dealing with vulnerable/disadvantaged individuals it is very important to be careful what views and information we share. Vulnerable groups can be very impressionable and the wrong idea coming across them may have a negative impact.

Hello Allen, I agree that social media can expand PLN and influence education. One can discuss with colleagues and learn new concepts, develop innovative ideas, and share their perspectives. Therefore, people can use the PLN to inspire new ideas and educate others.

I agree with the idea : “Only in an equal environment can we better engage everyone in the dialogue.” I think that an equal environment is a medium to promote discussion. For example, if there are people of the same age in a discussion group, their common topics will be more multi-valued and more similar.
